August 9 Virtual Chapter Meeting and Program
Synergistic Sales: The Art and Science of Securing Clients with Cooperation!
Michael Charest

11:15 AM – 1:15 PM

This is a Virtual Only Meeting

Virtual Attendees: Members – $30 / Non-Members - $40

“Pushy,” “Sleazy,” “Manipulative,” “Dishonest,” “Fake.” These are the top five words used to describe Sales and Selling in a poll of 5,000 Americans. (Daniel Pink) Do you feel like this? Most likely, it’s because we view sales as adversarial—us against them—as if we’re trying to manipulate prospective clients into buying something they don’t want. It doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, by our very nature, coaches should make the best salespeople in the world!

Introducing Synergistic Sales: Partnering in cooperation with your potential clients to create a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts. In this training, we’ll blend the science (proven, specific steps) and art (your style and authenticity) of the discovery session to earn more clients in an ethical, cooperative, trusting, and respectful manner. You will never feel negative about selling again!

Michael Charest became a coach in 1998. In 2000, he partnered with ICF Founder Thomas Leonard and embarked on the “Coach U Millennium Tour,” where they met over 2,000 coaches. With Thomas’ blessing, he came home and created three companies over the years, all to help coaches and solopreneurs with Sales and Marketing. To date he has served over 300 solos 1-1, 2,000 in small groups, and 5,000 with online courses. Michael has spoken to over 45 ICF Chapters.

August 7 Southeast Region Webinar
Dancing with Neurodiversity: Embracing Your Clients’ Brain Differences
Kate Arms, JD, CPCC, PCC
Tracy Winter, PhD, PCC

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM CT

Webinar Cost: ICF Global Members – $10 / Non-ICF Global Members – $20

This look at coaching through a neurodiversity-inclusive lens is based on the presenters’ experiences coaching hundreds of clients with a range of neurodivergences, on the latest research in neurophysiology, on trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and on theories of vertical development and positive disintegration. It is also informed by their personal experiences, good and bad, as neurodivergent coaching clients themselves.

With an estimated 15 to 20 percent of the world population thought to be neurodivergent, you’re probably already coaching neurodivergent clients. Come learn modifications that will make your coaching more accessible to them and neurodiversity-inclusive for everyone.

Kate Arms, JD, CPCC, PCC, has been a certified professional coach for over a decade and has been mentoring and teaching coaching since 2016. Her coaching work combines deep experience in the psychology of creativity, neurodiversity and collective innovation. She offers individual coaching and organizational coaching with a focus on culture-building and designing systems to support adaptive change that sticks. She has trauma-informed training with specific focuses in embodied cognition, improvisational dance and mindfulness practices. She holds a BA in Theatre and Biopsychology from Cornell University and a JD from Harvard Law School. She is credentialed as an International Coach Federation PCC, a certified ICAgile Expert in Enterprise Coaching, and a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. She is a graduate of the Co-Active Leadership Program.
Tracy Winter, Ph.D., PCC, has been a certified professional coach since 2009 and an ADHD coach mentor and trainer since 2021. Though she has coached executives and leaders, she is most passionate about coaching twice-exceptional people and other neurodivergent folks. Tracy is a co-founder of the Neurodiversity Coaching Academy. She also trains and mentors new coaches at the International ADHD Coach Training Center, facilitates leadership development for Tesla, coaches students via The Doerr Institute at Rice University, and is a team coach with Dixon Life Coaching, in addition to having her own private practice. Tracy earned a PhD in Human Development, an MA in Human and Organization Systems, and an Evidence-Based Coaching Certificate from Fielding Graduate University. She is credentialed as an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

From Your Board

On Saturday, July 20, our chapter held its Mid-Year Board Retreat, bringing together Directors and committee members for a day of strategic planning and collaboration. The retreat was an opportunity to reflect on our progress and plan for the future using the SOAR model, focusing on our Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results. Thanks to committee members: Nick Dillon, Lara Burnside, Susan Daniel, Nancy McGruder, and Kim Spikes for joining the Board for this retreat.

One of the highlights of the retreat was our rich discussion on the formation of sponsorships and the positive impact they could have on our chapter. We explored various ways to build and leverage these partnerships to enhance our offerings and support our mission.

Another key area of consensus was the need to explore the role of Associate Directors to augment the leadership provided by our Board and the need for continued recruitment of  committee members. We believe that expanding our leadership team will bring fresh energy and ideas, helping to drive our chapter forward.

We also took time to acknowledge our many strengths, emphasizing that quality programming is preferred over quantity. By focusing on delivering meaningful and impactful experiences, we can provide greater value to our members.

The Mid-Year Retreat was a productive and inspiring event, providing a platform for the Board to move forward in the second half of the year with renewed energy and purpose. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing to serve and support our members.

Steve Hendon
President, ICF-North Texas

We Value Our Volunteers

Our award-winning chapter is successful and works so well because of our volunteers. Volunteering increases the value of ICF membership in so many ways. Sharing your time and talents as a volunteer helps us expand the impact of professional coaching throughout North Texas and beyond. Volunteers benefit, too. Volunteering can help you build your network and grow your coaching practice. Serving on a committee is a great way (for new members, especially) to get involved and meet other professional coaches who are potential collaboration partners, allies, source of referrals, and friendship.
