Scott Howard, JD, MCC is an associate coach on the Lawyers Life Coach team who has coached CEOs, senior leaders, attorneys, prominent architects, world-class academics, executives and high potentials.

A coaching agreement is one of the top three ways coaches fall into trouble. We hear about the coaching agreement but what does it truly mean? Is it a competency, a document or a concept? Point of fact—it transcends core competencies and expands into the legalities and ethics of our industry. In our discussion, we'll explore the coaching agreement and examine the ethical considerations central to it. You'll discover available resources and a tool for building a great coaching agreement.

Chapter News

March 25 Southeast Region Webinar Series

While we offered a few opportunities to connect with other chapters through webinars last year, we are thrilled to be offering you a webinar every month this year, including nine that are part of the Southeast Region Webinar Series. While the pricing has changed, you will see we are getting outstanding information on many of the hottest topics in coaching, and these webinars offer a great value in continuing education.

Starting in March, the Southeast Region webinar series monthly webinar is $10 for ICF Global members and $20 for non-ICF Global members. You receive one CCEU for each webinar attended. Our ICF North Texas Chapter will be featured on the Southeast Region Webinar Series in May, July and December this year, and we will offer ICF North Texas area-only webinars as well.

We can be excited about the Southeast Region Webinar Series because it offers us:

  • Collaboration among the 15 chapters in the Southeast Region
  • Nine webinars in 2020!
  • Continued learning opportunities by established industry experts
  • Online interaction with other coaches in the ICF Southeast Region AND Globally
  • Opportunities to engage in high-quality, professional development, while learning CCEUs at a great value

Tyra Brenham, who does the behind-the-scenes work on these webinars said, “We are thrilled for our members to be able to engage with members of other chapters!” Mike Caracalas, who worked closely with ICF Southeast Region leadership added, “It’s all about leveraging the outstanding expertise we have across our chapters, to bring our ICF North Texas members and associates great value and great learning.”

Register for the upcoming webinar on March 12, where Scott Howard, JD, MCC, will provide us with important information for the great foundation we want to set with every client about our integrity and professionalism. He will have the latest on ICF’s new information.

If you are a global ICF member, remember you can access the Interpretive Statements (to be treated as a living document) here. And if you have any questions about the Interpretive Statements, the ICF Code of Ethics, or ethics in coaching, you can contact the ICF Ethics Assist line at ethics@coachfederation.org or +1.859.226.4245.

International Coaching Week Provides Opportunity to Give Back

As part of International Coaching Week 2020 ICF North Texas is heading back to the North Texas Food Bank to share the experience of coaching with their leadership team.

Last year several North Texas Food Bank staff members participated in a facilitated workshop on coaching that included the opportunity to be paired with an ICF-NT coach for three hours of pro-bono coaching. This year we are expanding our partnership with new ways for our ICF North Texas members and associates to get involved.

We are eager to see how we can continue to contribute to this highly respected community organization responsible for bringing almost 77 million meals to those in need while working with more than 200 partner agencies across 13 counties.

Look for more information coming soon on how you can participate!

Get Involved

ICF North Texas Chapter members will have opportunities to volunteer at our March 25 Welcome Reception. We will have a better idea of what our needs are going to be as this special draws closer.
