Celebrate Coaching

Celebrate Coaching is a unique event. This is our once-a-year invitation to the community to learn more about professional coaching. It is an opportunity to reinforce why coaching is so valuable to your existing clients and prospects. We’ll learn more about Richard Boyatzis in the August newsletter. This month, we are highlighting Marcia Reynolds who will help us get the guts it takes to trigger real learning.

Dr. Marcia Reynolds, MCC, focuses on the way so many companies struggle with building an engaged, productive culture of collaboration with their teams, helping them to hear one another like never before. She’ll show how the neuroscience behind coaching approaches development so we can build communication, open up new ideas, create progress towards success, and share the practice of Reflective Inquiry.

Marcia helps coaches become their clients’ trusted thinking partner as they discover new ways to achieve their desired outcomes, make critical life choices, solve their dilemmas, and improve the bottom line in their businesses. You can quickly master these practical tips and skills to achieve more profound results from your coaching. Inviting your clients and prospects will reinforce why they need to work with you, now more than ever. In addition to educating your clients and prospects about why coaching is so effective, she will enhance your coaching abilities as you support them in making the changes they want for themselves and their organizations. Marcia will enhance your ability to get results—inspiring clients to commit to taking steps toward their goals without falling back to their old ways once it feels too difficult or awkward.

Marcia has become known throughout the world for her coaching skills and for teaching coaching to support meaningful difference in individuals and the corporate world we serve. Excerpts from Marcia's books, Outsmart Your Brain, The Discomfort Zone, and Wander Woman have appeared in business and psychological publications world-wide. Her latest bestseller, Coach the Person Not the Problem: A Guide to Using Reflective Inquiry, has been receiving rave reviews since being released June, 2020.

Marcia holds a doctorate in organizational psychology and two master's degrees in adult learning and communication and is passionate about how coaching contributes to making the world a better place for all. She helps coaches and leaders make every conversation a difference-making experience. Marcia has provided coach training in 43 countries and speaks at conferences around the world, and she created the renowned WBECS program, Breakthrough Coaching. She was the fifth global president of the International Coaching Federation and is one of 10 coaches recognized ICF's Distinction for her contributions to the global coaching community.

Member Snapshot: Michele Galen and Kathrine Glass

Organization: Michele Galen offers executive coaching, group and team coaching to high-potential individuals at diverse points in their careers. Her clients tend to be ambitious and talented, seeking greater growth, performance and satisfaction professionally and personally. Michele Galen LLC focuses on executive coaching to leaders and teams in life sciences. Modern Professional Coaching, is a partnership with Michele and ICF North Texas member Laurie Goetz, and offers a group coaching program for rising professionals.

Training and Continuous Learning: In addition to a law degree and a MS in Journalism, Michele has a certificate in executive coaching from Columbia University. She is currently completing the ACC. She is Certified to administer Hogan Assessments. Her ongoing education focuses on growing skills and knowledge, including ICF North Texas and Global offerings, WBECS, and more.

Volunteering Opportunities: Michele moved to Dallas in November 2019 and joined ICF North Texas fairly soon after. She was able to attend one in-person meeting before COVID and at that meeting she volunteered to be part of International Coaching week. This was one of the best things she did all year. The work grew into a year-long project supporting the North Texas Food Bank that was highly rewarding. We supported a critical group during a critical time and, as part of the Steering Committee, she met and built relationships with so many great people, which has led to diverse personal and business opportunities. She intends to stay involved with ICF North Texas as she gets so much from the experience.

Favorite Coaching Moments: My most rewarding coaching is seeing clients reframe internal stories and assumptions to do things they told themselves they couldn’t do or thought were impossible.
