Member Snapshot - Sarah Dao-Bai
As we continue to introduce you to more of our wonderful chapter members, we invite you to learn more about Sarah Dao-Bai of Joyful Catholic Living, her brand of coaching.
How did your career in coaching begin? I was experiencing many challenges at work when I sought the help of a Life/Career Coach. Throughout our conversation, my love for one-on-one prayer ministry and soul care transpired. This is really when I felt the most alive. One day my coach recommended that I check out The Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI) which was about to offer the "Essentials of Life Coaching" course, specifically for aspiring Catholic coaches. I was not sold on the idea of becoming a coach but signed up anyway for leadership development purposes. The class was an introduction to a new world that completely transformed my life. Not only did my relationships at work improve as I implemented basic coaching principles (listening and asking questions), but I was also building amazing relationships in the coaching world. For the first time in ten years, I felt aligned, alive, and inspired when it came to my career. Coaching offered me a safe space where I could bring all of myself. This is a space where everything was falling into place; a space where my experiences, gifts and talents beautifully came together. Today I offer a space for lay Catholic leaders (Ministry/Business) where they can be vulnerable, find community, and get reinvigorated.
What is your niche in coaching and how did it unfold? Leadership Development, Personal/Life Coaching, Group Coaching. I stumbled upon this niche while running virtual small-group programs. A few participants related that they did not feel comfortable joining things in their local communities. This led them to feel isolated and lonely. I recognized an opportunity to create a virtual space that would fill their needs for connection and community. For connection to their community. It was a match made in Heaven. They were all able to create memorable experiences together.
Overall, my coaching allows me to see my clients rising from the ashes after years of losses and grief. I get to see them gain confidence, regain their sharp sense of humor, and be filled with new hopes and dreams.
Why do you enjoy being part of ICF-North Texas? I chose to become a member of ICF-North Texas because of the people and the community. It has been a great blessing to meet such generous, fun-loving, and amazing people. Volunteering for the Membership Committee and being a member of the Business Development LINC have both been very rewarding. As I pursue my ACC and work toward starting my business, being part of this chapter helps me feel more connected and confident. I enjoy the added learning and the sharing of coaching best practices.
Tell us more about yourself. Being a native of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), my first language is French. I have lived most of my life in the U.S. and moved to Dallas from the Northeast after falling in love with the city. My hobbies include reading (non-fiction), fashion sewing and traveling.
Final thoughts.
• I truly enjoy ‘Laser Coaching’ by Marion Franklin.
• My motto is "Living Life Well."
• I love to meet new people and learn their life stories. I find it fascinating.
• Do not hesitate to reach out if you want to grab coffee or chat. sarah.m.daobai@gmail.com
Visiting my favorite place, the Dallas Botanical Garden, and hanging out with Mother Teresa.
On the day I became a U.S. Citizen, I stopped to capture the moment in NYC with my mother.

We Value Our Volunteers
Our award-winning chapter is successful and works so well because of our volunteers. Volunteering increases the value of ICF membership in so many ways. Sharing your time and talents as a volunteer helps us expand the impact of professional coaching throughout North Texas and beyond.
Volunteers benefit, too. Volunteering can help you build your network and grow your coaching practice. Serving on a committee is a great way (for new members, especially) to get involved and meet other professional coaches who are potential collaboration partners, allies, source of referrals, and friendship.
Our Mission
Our mission is to grow and develop a competent coaching community that drives results for coaches and those they serve. We do this by providing strong credentialed coaches, educational programs, and rich resources for internal and external coaches, and organizations and individuals seeking coaches.
Our Vision
ICF-NT will be known as the leading resource for the coaching community and the organizations and individuals it serves by providing:
- A collaborative network of credentialed coaches
- Continuing education
- Impactful contributions to the coaching profession
