About this event

Our March 8 Luncheon Program features Randy Mayeux, a broad-based knowledge consultant, professional speaker, and writer. He is the founder, and now consultant, for Creative Communication Network.

Randy presents keynote addresses and training sessions to a vast array of corporation clients. His clients include top companies and organizations in health care, technology, local governments, hospitality, defense, oil and gas, finance, real estate, nonprofit, banking, and others.

Randy has served as a professional member of the National Speakers Association, and recently served on the board of the National Speakers Association of North Texas. He has appeared as a guest on numerous local and national radio shows. He has authored articles in professional journals, guest columns in the Dallas Morning News, and a book on spiritual growth.

Randy has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Pepperdine University, at Richland College, at the University of Texas at Dallas, and currently at Eastfield College. He is an instructor for the Business Leadership Center at the SMU Cox School of Business, for which he has earned the Teaching Excellence Award multiple times.

Program Description:

We live in a “beat around the bush culture.” Leaders and colleagues beat around the bush, and do not get to the point in their conversations and in their meetings.

Randy’s presentation will cover the book Radical Candor (by Kim Scott), which provides practical steps to follow to have conversations that actually get to the point. The book also provides a template for how to schedule and conduct meetings that effectively deal with the real issues facing teams.

Program Outcomes:

In this presentation, Randy Mayeux will provide a full synopsis of the book Radical Candor, and lead interactive exercises modeled after the insights from the book. These exercises will model techniques that allow coaches to have more direct and effective conversations with their clients, as well as helping their clients do the same with their direct reports and their teams.
