Our ICF-North Texas Chapter is proud to offer four
Credential Support LINC groups this year, including the new Road to Mastery LINC for experienced PCCs with greater than 1500 hours of coaching experience.
ACC Credential and beyond – support for members preparing for ACC Credential exam, as well as existing ACC coaches as they continue to develop their competency.
PCC Credential and beyond – support for experienced ACC coaches interested in pursuing the PCC Credential exam, as well as experienced PCC coaches continuing to develop proficiency.
NEW: Road to Mastery (Advanced PCC) – supports experienced PCC coaches wanting to develop coaching mastery. The group focuses on practicing master-level coaching skills and discussing the exercises.
MCC Credential – Supports members preparing for advancement to MCC. Prerequisite: Must 1) hold PCC credential, 2) have a mentor coach, 3) have enough training and client hours to apply for MCC, and 4) be actively recording regularly.

Space is filling fast for the 2024 All Texas Retreat and Conference,
March 21 - 24, in New Braunfels, Texas. This event is hosted each March by the Texas Coaches Coalition, to spark collaboration between coaches with a variety of experience and specialties. The conference is a must-attend event for all coaches who are interested in growing, learning, and connecting with other passionate and like-minded professional coaches from across the state of Texas, and beyond.
The conference offers unparalleled learning opportunities through high-impact keynote presentations and interactive workshops, with the opportunity to earn numerous CCEUs across the three-day event. In addition to the learning opportunities, attendees can network and exchange ideas through a variety of special interest Affinity Groups, as well as take advantage of the built-in “retreat” time to relax and recharge. A huge Thank You to Jane Koenecke for serving on the Communications Committee for the past four years. Jane served as Communications Director for the first two years and spent the last two years as a committee volunteer coordinating the monthly newsletter and monthly Member Snapshots. Jane has thoughtfully and generously continued to offer her time to help transition her work to the 2024 Communications Committee and will remain on the committee to assist.
For the new year, we’d like to welcome Lisa Seay and Norma Martinez to the committee. Both Lisa and Norma are previous Communications Director Board Members. Lisa will be managing the monthly newsletter and Norma will be responsible for introducing our members through the Member Snapshots. Thank you, Lisa and Norma!

Alma Weaver Jones Receives 2023 Distinguished Service Award
Congratulations to Alma Weaver Jones, PCC, the 2023 recipient of the ICF North Texas Distinguished Service Award! Each year our chapter honors a member who has worked to expand the legitimacy of coaching as a vocation and a valuable service to both individuals and organizations. As a chapter past president and a long-time loyal member of ICF Global and ICF North Texas, Alma has led a successful Ambassador program, been a generous mentor for board members and coaches, and has served on the Texas Coaches Coalition Board. For over seventeen years she has worked as the Examiner and Supervising Coach and Faculty of the University of Texas Dallas School of Management’s Executive & Professional Coaching Program. Alma is an executive coach who also practices Equine Assisted coaching, and she is known as one of the most popular and effective mentor coaches at UTD. Thank you, Alma, for your dedication and service to the coaching profession!

Dr. Nancy McGruder.
Dr. Nancy McGruder has been a member of ICF-North Texas since 2022 and has served as a committee member of the Alliance Committee.
Why coaching? I gravitate to coaching because this work gives individuals the ability to be their best. It’s not therapy, so I’m not working on trauma from childhood. My view as a professional is that coaching works and puts people in control of what they want to do, where they want to go, how they want to be. Getting to that new point by yourself can be difficult.
I’ve been in education my entire career and have watched people working to move to a new place by doing the same things in the same way that they have always done. It’s in my spirit to ask questions, not to challenge, but to help others uncover the answers they seek.
My business(s): My business efforts are focused in two areas:
NMc Coaching & Consulting and Build Your Board of Directors (BYBOD).
NMc Coaching & Consulting is my core business where I focus on coaching, teaching, and mentoring others. Offerings include Career, Corporate/Executive, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership Development, Small Business/Entrepreneur, and Team/Group coaching. I see my niche or target area as Leadership Development in all aspects of these offerings.
I just launched my 501C(3) Build Your Board of Directors (BYBOD). BYBOD fosters the success of Women of Color (WoC) by empowering, educating, and supporting women of color in having and maintaining a personal board of directors. Our vision at BYBOD is a world where the success of WoC is rooted in honoring and respecting women of color for their inherent worth and the immense value they bring to every sphere. Participants are engaged with a personal board of directors who are comprised of trusted advisors, mentors, coaches, and champions. This board of directors provides invaluable insights, helps broaden perspectives, expands networks, equips you to make well-informed decisions, and supports goal setting and achievement. Expertise and credentials: I earned my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from
Dallas Baptist University in 2016. I also hold degrees in Foundations of Education from Troy University, and Higher Education and Management from Dallas Baptist University. In addition, I have a Brain-Based Coaching Certificate (BBCC) from the NeuroLeadership Institute.
Why ICF-North Texas? I was looking to join a community that would continue to support my growth and development as a coach as well as a place where I could contribute.
My current focus is to obtain my ACC from the International Coaching Federation and I am an active member of the ICF-North Texas ACC LINC group. I chose this group to help support me in the pursuit of ACC as well as a place to build community.
What else can you share? I enjoy the challenge and results of working out several times per week.
