Board Update! "Connecting and Including"
From Steve Hendon, PCC
ICF-North Texas President
Your Board has been hard at work setting the course for 2024 and you have been, and remain, an important part of that process. Your feedback at the January Annual Meeting along with the information we received from the 2024 Chapter Survey was integral in helping us do this.
On Saturday, February 17, your Board met for our 2024 Winter Retreat. We had 100% attendance, and the energy was high as we discussed, in depth, our purpose, goals, and actions for 2024. Our theme for 2024 is “Connecting and Including.” Stay tuned for more details. I think you will be as excited as we are.
We also had an opportunity to spend some time with our past presidents at our annual Past-Presidents Brunch on Saturday, February 24. It was an opportunity to hear from the past presidents who provided leadership for this chapter from the very beginning. Their insight was inspiring. We also had an opportunity to thank the 2023 Board and introduce the new members of the 2024 Board.
Our committees and our Board will be hard at work this year. If you would like to be more involved, we have many volunteer opportunities for you. Our committees are the foundation of our chapter’s success. Some positions take just a little time and others are more involved. Let’s find the right opportunity for you to be a part of this amazing ICF-North Texas Chapter.

The Connection Crew LINC Group will focus on fostering connections among members, helping build relationships, and exchanging ideas. We will share relevant resources, information, and best practices to help new members succeed and navigate the organization effectively.
This new LINC Group will meet the third Monday of the month from 12:00 – 12:45 PM CT, via Zoom.
If you have joined ICF-North Texas in the past 12 months, you are welcome to participate. Please contact Dara Rossi at

Member Snapshot - Lisa Seay, PCC
Our Member Snapshot is an ongoing glimpse of your fellow members, giving you a great network of resources available to you and reminding you why it is so valuable to belong to ICF-North Texas. This month our feature member is Lisa Seay, PCC.
Lisa Seay has been a member of ICF-North Texas since 2015 and served as Director of Communications on the Board from 2017-2019. She also served on the Board of the Texas Coaches Coalition from 2020-2021. She received her Graduate Certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2015.
What led you to start your coaching business, element c? I started element c in 2015, following a diverse career in human resources and with a deep desire to make a bigger impact. Choosing who I work with, and the way we work together, fuels my own growth mindset as I help others understand their own personal agency. It is rewarding beyond measure to help others find their own sense of being in control of their actions and their consequences—to act intentionally and effectively in different situations.
What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business? That it’s okay not to have all the answers before you start something; to always prioritize faith over fear.
How do you navigate your work-life balance? Carefully. Like most people, I can get overwhelmed trying to serve my clients, myself and my family. So, I set boundaries (and then reset if they don’t work or serve the purpose), prioritize my values and goals, and I give myself grace when I need to. As much as I make time for client work and my own professional development, I also schedule personal retreats once a quarter to rest, regroup and revitalize my body and mind.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing someone’s success. Watching someone face challenges and opportunities with confidence and resilience—and be reminded that it was within them all along. Almost 10 years later, I know I’m in the right place. My clients often tell me that I have an artful way of blending the insight to guide with a dose of compassion to inspire. For me, I see every coaching engagement as a forever relationship. I stay with the client in whatever way they need me to for as long as they need me to.
Why ICF-North Texas? I wanted to get involved with other professional coaches as I started my own company. And, a few of my former HR colleagues were members. Being a part of the chapter has allowed me to reconnect with old friends while also meeting new people and growing my network. This year, I’m leveraging my membership by joining the Road to Coaching Mastery LINC and learning more about the coaching competencies and how to be better at what I do.
What else can you share? I’m about to have a new driver in my house and a child getting ready to go to college next year. Stressful but exciting all at the same time!
