Curious about what makes ICF NT a high performing and recognized chapter? Whether you are new to the chapter or someone who has contributed to our rich history through the years, you are invited to join us for a special webinar on November 19 at 10:00 AM CST.

This webinar series features each of the 2018 ICF Chapter Recognition honorees individually sharing their stories and initiatives that earned them this designation. On November 19, it's ICF North Texas' turn to be featured.  ICF North Texas Past Presidents, Jude Olson, PCC, Catherine Oleksiw, PCC and Mike Caracalas, PCC will share the story of ICF North Texas and how strategy, leadership and engagement have driven our chapter's growth and development from its beginning in 1995.

Chapter recognition honorees are selected on the basis of their annual chapter activity reports and evaluated according to ICF’s criteria for high-performing chapters. Based on these criteria, a high-performing ICF Chapter:

  • Creates an attractive, credible presence and voice for professional coaching in its local community.
  • Exhibits qualities of a high-performing chapter (namely, agility, adaptability, accountability, sustainability, caring, innovation and relevance).
  • Creates sustainable governance.
  • Ensures financial viability.
  • Defines and manages culture.
  • Ensures infrastructure.

Register here and join ICF North Texas leaders on November 19 at 10:00 am CST for an inside look at what makes us an award-winning chapter.

2nd Annual Celebrate Coaching Event a Success!

Celebrate Coaching 2019: The Business Case for Building a Coaching Culture, our signature event of the year, was held October 11 at La Cima Club in Las Colinas. The event was designed to celebrate the professional field of coaching by sharing specifically how to create a coaching culture and to learn from the organizations that are making it happen.

Braving extremely rainy conditions, 120 attendees arrived and began the morning with breakfast and some networking time. The program opened with an overview of 2018 HCI/ICF research about building a coaching culture (https://coachfederation.org/research/building-a-coaching-culture) presented by Sara Smith, MCC.

An impressive panel of four talent and organizational development leaders then shared best practices as well as practical tips on how to bring coaching into an organization—because they’ve done it! Steve Sosland, Chief People Officer at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, engaged the audience with real life examples of how companies live their values and create a coaching culture from the ground up.

ICF North Texas is grateful to our sponsors, hrQ, Lee Hecht Harrison, and Team Delegate along with many member-sponsored tables for making the event one for the memory books. We also extend our gratitude to the volunteers who made this special event a great success.

Texas Conference for Women
ICF North Texas Represented!

On Friday, October 25, ICF North Texas coaches joined with ICF Austin, Houston and San Antonio to provide coaching services to over 150 attendees of the Texas Conference for Women in Austin. This is the fourth year that ICF Austin has sponsored the Coaches Corner and the third year that ICF North Texas has participated, by sending five volunteers from our chapter: Ben Dilla, Ken Jenkins, TJ Johnson, Jude Olson and Lisa Yarbough.

These coaches provided pro-bono coaching, delivered in a laser coaching style, to any attendee who desires it. Through these sessions, attendees experience first hand, the value that coaching offers. Survey feedback included comments like “(She) was super helpful in getting me to think about my situation in a different way. I feel a lot better about my future steps than I used to.” and “Talking out loud about my goals and challenges made me answer my own questions. The questions and guidance by the coach was enlightening and thought provoking.

Membership in ICF North Texas affords you the opportunity to participate in pro bono coaching experiences like this. 2020 will bring similar opportunities so be on the lookout and join in!

          2019 Global Coaching Survey
It's Not Just for Coaches... Spread the Word

The last time a Global Coaching Study was commissioned by Price Waterhouse Coopers and the ICF was 2015. But, it’s the fourth time that this important survey has been conducted. What is it? The survey is designed to engage with as many coaches as possible to provide an up-to-date picture of the coaching profession and empower coaches to embrace the opportunities and meet the challenges ahead. It explores diverse topics, including Industry size and revenue, the business and practice of coaching, and perspectives on industry trends, including regulation, technology and more.

And it’s not just for coaches. This will be the second time that managers/leaders using coaching skills are included in the study. In 2015, their inclusion enabled us to achieve powerful insights into the growth of coaching cultures within businesses and organizations.

Anyone who fits one of the categories below can take the survey:

  • External coach practitioners
  • Internal coach practitioners
  • Coaches who self-identify as both external and internal coach practitioners
  • HR/talent development managers/leaders who use coaching skills
  • Managers/leaders who use coaching skills

The survey benefits coaches by giving them insights into where they can grow their business and help them understand where they fit into the marketplace.

The survey is open through December, 2019. But, don’t delay. Complete the survey and send the link to someone you know who is a coach or someone who is a manager or leader utilizing coaching. We all can benefit by participating in this important research. For more information, visit ICF Global.
